GeoLocate

Geolocate is a well-known tool used by biodiversity collections professionals for georeferencing of locality data. The application is accessible from their website and can be used without cost. GeoLocate can be viewed as a ecosystem in the way that the same backbone can be used in different ways. It has the Standard client which allows to check localities one by one. It has a batch importer of localities to process all at the same time. and it has a collaborative version where multiple users can divide the georeferencing work. GeoLocate has an interactive map with multiple layer types that allows to further fine tune the predicted georeferenced of a locality. It uses different gazetteers to evaluate the potential geographic coordinates associated with the locality description.
